Many independent living communities do not allow pets. This prohibition can be a barrier to move-in for many seniors who can't imagine being separated from their "best bud". I know of several groups of residents who get their exercise by taking their dogs to the park every day for playtime. What a great excuse for fresh air, social time and movement for owners and their pets!
