  • Vera I am having the biggest dillemma of my life. My Mother is 84 and right now she is fairly active. My Father is passed away- he was 92. My Mother moved from Colorado to where I am living. She lived with me for awhile - and it did not work out too well. I would love that she could be in an Independent Living community - but she simply cannot afford it. $2500 - $3700 a month. I am 56 (widowed) and still work - and work from home at that. When she was living with me her life revolved around me - and where i could take her - and when i tried to have a life of my own - she laid the guilt trip on. At this point I am seeing a psychologist on what is best for her. There just are not too many options. It is overwhelming for me - and she keeps on saying things like "I dont know what I am going to do:- She is not totally poor - she has $1500 a month to live on. Does anyone know of any help to live in an Indendent Living Community?
